Most unmatches are housekeeping, not judgement. People clear out conversations that went quiet, unmatch everyone when they start seeing someone, and delete accounts - which looks identical to being unmatched from your side.
The unmatches that are about you cluster in three places: an opener that landed badly, a message that got intense or sexual too fast, or a long gap where they forgot who you were.

Usually a swipe they did not mean, or a second look at your profile that changed their mind. On Tinder in particular a lot of right-swipes are near-automatic, and the profile only gets read after the match.
If this happens constantly, the profile is doing something the lead photo does not prepare people for. That is worth checking directly: a strong first photo followed by a weak set is the commonest version.
The message before the silence is the evidence. Look at it honestly - was it a question they had already answered, a compliment on their body, a joke that needed context, or four messages in a row with no reply between them?
The other frequent cause is asking to move to WhatsApp or Instagram early. It reads as a step toward being harder to block, whether or not that is what you meant.
Being unmatched instead of being turned down is about their discomfort, not your ask. Plenty of people find 'no' harder than a button.
Unless you asked in a way that was hard to refuse - pressure, a specific commitment, or somewhere private - the ask was not the problem and asking early is still right.
You cannot get the match back, and there is no message they will see. Any tool selling you a way to find out who unmatched you is selling nothing.
The number worth tracking is not unmatches, it is how many conversations reach a date. That one you can move.
