Most of the time this is not rejection at all. OkCupid shows you that likes exist while keeping who sent them behind a subscription, so a pile of likes and no matches is often a paywall rather than a verdict on your profile.
The rest is ordinary: people like widely, look properly later, and only a fraction of likes were ever going to become conversations.

A free account can see that it has likes and can see blurred or partial previews, but matching with those people on demand is a paid feature. Swiping normally, you will still reach some of them by chance when they come round in the stack - which is slow, and looks exactly like being ignored.
That is worth knowing before you rewrite anything: a number designed to sell you a subscription is not feedback on your bio.
Likes come from your lead photo. Matches come from the whole profile. So a steady stream of likes with very few matches, when you can see who liked you, points at a gap between photo one and everything after it.
That is the most fixable pattern there is, because it means the hard part already works. The lead photo is earning attention; the rest of the set is spending it.
Count over a week. If you cannot see who liked you at all, the paywall explains the gap and no profile change will close it. If you can see them and are matching with almost none, look at photos two through six, and at whether your answers read as warm or as a list of conditions.
Do not run both diagnoses at once. They have different fixes, and together they tell you nothing.
Fixed the profile and still nothing? Sometimes it is the pool, not the photos - the same profile does different numbers on different apps. See which app suits you
