Usually not, and the reason matters. Paid tiers buy you distribution - more people see your card. They do not buy you conversion.
If your profile converts one percent of the people who see it, paying to triple your impressions gives you three times a small number. You have paid to be rejected more efficiently.

Getting impressions but no matches? That is a profile problem, and no subscription fixes it. Spend the money on nothing and fix the photos instead.
Getting matches, but the app has clearly shown you everyone within forty miles? That is a distribution problem, and paying may genuinely help.

Seeing who already liked you. It converts a browsing problem into a shortlist, which is a real change in how you spend your time rather than a change in how many people see you.
Buy it after the profile is good, though, or you are just watching a better-lit version of the same rejection.
Fix the lead photo. Add a full-body shot. Rewrite the prompts so they can be replied to. Run two weeks. Then look at whether match volume moved.
Only if it moved and then plateaued is distribution your bottleneck.
