Cold Profile › answers

Where can I get my dating profile rated honestly?

The short answer

Useful feedback ranks your photos against each other and rewrites your bio. Useless feedback tells you that you look great and should be yourself. The difference is whether it names a specific thing to change.

Friends give the second kind almost always, because the social cost of the first kind is high and they like you.

What a real rating contains

Every photo placed in order with a reason, so you know which one leads and which ones to cut. A rewritten bio or set of prompts in your own voice rather than a template. And a straight answer about whether the profile is the problem at all, because sometimes it is the filters or the pool.

If feedback does not change what you would do tomorrow, it was entertainment.

Why public rating threads go wrong

Posting your profile to a public forum gets you a mix of strangers being unkind for an audience and strangers being vague to be nice, and neither is calibrated to the app you use or the people you want.

It also puts your photos somewhere permanent and searchable, which is a real cost for advice you could get privately.

How to get one that helps

Send the whole set, not your favourite three, and say which app and which city - the same profile performs differently on Hinge and Tinder, and in a small town versus a capital.

Ask for it ranked and rewritten, and ask what to cut. Anyone unwilling to tell you which photo to delete is not really reviewing it.

Want this done for your profile? Two free options, no signup either way.

Fixed the profile and still nothing? Sometimes it is the pool, not the photos - the same profile does different numbers on different apps. See which app suits you
